What would you do if you want to reply to a specific comment from any of your articles? Let's assume you have an article with ten comments and you want to reply to the fifth one. How would you do that?
With the movable type native commenting feature, one is not able to comment to somebody else's specific comment. He/She could just write a comment which will appear as the last comment.
Through the movable type threaded comments we are setting up this feature for you so that your commenters would be able to reply to other people comments.
What is nice about this feature is that we could display the comments made to other comments in two ways. Either under the first level comment, a little bit distanced from the left and right margins, or at their regular position but with a specific reference which to include also a reference to the comment that this other comment is sent in reply to.
Example:
Posted, in reply to John Smith's comment, by Alone: | Reply
Your advantage on deciding to implement this feature is that your commenters would be able to reply to other people comments easier, in the sense that there will be a clear statement that a comment is placed in reply to another specific comment.
It's basically a feature which makes one read easier you comments by understanding the relationship between some comments and some other ones posted in reply to them.
Based on the experience we have with online communities, visitors like to be able to comment to other people comments and clearly see that a comment is posted on reply to another one.
